What is ionized water and why is it important to know?

Most of us have seen and tasted water from a glacial stream. It's blue with minerals, it tastes completely different, and it seems to enter the body lightly. This water is precious because the minerals are there not just to offer elements the human body system lacks, but also to 'hold' antioxidant power of glacial water. It is naturally occurring ionized water.

Ionized water is drinking water that has undergone a process of ionization. During this process the acid and alkaline content found in H2O are segregated. This division is achieved by subjecting the water to electrolysis by taking advantage of the naturally occurring electric charge found within magnesium and calcium ions. When successfully ionized, this type of drinking water can help enhance the ability of the blood to carry oxygen and also assist in neutralizing free radicals (which cause damage to body cells and bring about disease and premature aging) in the bloodstream.
